MARGO, Sask. – A man in Saskatchewan is accused of murdering a woman he was in a relationship with, injuring another woman and baby next door and then assaulting a man in another town over a hundred kilometres away while seeking help for a stuck vehicle.
RCMP say they got a report of an assault in Margo in eastern Saskatchewan late Saturday night, and when they arrived, they found a seriously injured woman and an infant with injuries they describe as non-life-threatening.
But in a home next door, they found 51-year-old Sharon Littlewolfe of Margo dead and a vehicle missing from a nearby residence.
Police say the suspect was known to all of the victims and their investigation has determined he was in a relationship with Littlewolfe.
Less than two hours later, police say they were called to a home in Tisdale where a homeowner had restrained a man who allegedly showed up looking for help with a stuck vehicle, but who then assaulted him.
Mounties say the alleged victim was able to hold the man until officers arrived and arrested him.
A 56-year-old from Lloydminster was arrested and faces charges that include one count of second-degree murder, one count of attempted murder, and two counts of aggravated assault.
He will appear in provincial court in Melfort on Tuesday.
