Noah was the most popular baby name in New Brunswick this year, while in Nova Scotia it was Oliver.

Vital Statistics Data for 2022 released by the two provinces describes the most frequently chosen names among the 5,208 births registered in New Brunswick and the 6,828 births in Nova Scotia so far in 2022.

Next to top-chosen name Noah, New Brunswick’s most popular baby names were Liam, William, Jack, Thomas, Oliver, Benjamin, Olivia, Emma and Amelia.

In Nova Scotia, after top-chosen name Oliver, the most common names were Jack, Charlotte, Violet, William, Emma, Owen, Henry, Olivia and Noah.

A statement from Service Nova Scotia notes that while the most popular names remain fairly consistent between years, the names Grayson and Beau are gaining popularity.

Those two names were the 16th and 17th most popular in 2022, with 30 babies named Grayson and 29 babies named Beau.
