A Poet, a Painter, a Merchant and a Jeweller walk into the house of Timon, a wealthy philanthropist whose generosity is celebrated by all of Athens. At his house, every night is a celebration and everyone is welcome, from the controversial war-criminal Alcibiades to the foul-mouthed street Philosopher Apemantus. Over Timon’s shoulder, his steward and enabler Flavius watches helplessly as the money dries up and Timon goes bankrupt. When no one comes to his rescue, Timon has an emotional breakdown and abandons Athens to die in the wilderness. There, at his lowest, Timon discovers a hidden treasure. Instead of using his newfound wealth to return to civilization and repair his estate, he spends it on mercenaries, thieves, and criminals with one goal: the destruction of Athens.
