Back in 2019, before there was a global pandemic, there was Cliff Cardinal’s CBC Special – and the people were happy.
“Go see Cliff Cardinal’s CBC Special if you can! I felt relieved afterwards. Relieved to see a show that did everything I think live performance can do – be political, heartbreaking, funny, inviting, risky, intimate and hold all the complexity and difficulties of humans living together and still hope when you leave the show,” – A discerning patron.
“Cardinal was spellbinding to watch on stage. His energy transformed the theatre, making it feel as if we were outdoors, somewhere familiar and intimate: sitting around a campfire with friends, howling with laughter and tears.” – Mooney on Theatre
Video Cabaret is thrilled to bring this show back home. Cliff created it while he was writer-in residence at VideoCab. Interim Artistic Director Layne Coleman remarked, in programming the piece, “I believe the Land Acknowledgement show has altered the landscape. Cliff has been half way around the world and back in these last five years. We will be seeing World Tour Cliff – when he takes the stage.”
Come see Cliff Cardinal in this intimate setting as he “shines a light on his own little corner of the Canadian experience and shares a piece of his heart. Betcha dollar that at some point throughout, he will break yours.” – The Kingston Whig Standard
Produced and presented in association with Eric Epstein and Imaginary Force.
