There are two competing almanacs: the Farmers’ Almanac and the Old Farmer’s Almanac. Both have been published for more than 200 years, and both highly protect their secret forecasting formulas, which they say have stood the test of time. CBC’s Johanna Wagstaffe explores the history, the science and why millions of people still turn to these books each year.
