Winnipeg police issued an Amber Albert on Friday afternoon for a two-year-old they say was last seen being taken from a home wrapped in a blanket.

Police said in a news release Friday afternoon officers went to 54 Chesterfield Ave. shortly after 10 a.m., and learned William Ettawacappo had been taken by a 30-year-old woman.

The child was wrapped in a blanket that was dark blue and light blue in colour. It is unknown where they were going or what vehicle they might have left in, the release said.

Police said they are looking for two women in connection after the alleged abduction.

Caitlin Cassandra Monkman, 30, is described as five feet, eight inches with a heavy build. Kineisha Rose Jawbone, 25, is described as five feet, seven inches with a heavy build.

Both women were last seen wearing dark clothing and light-coloured shoes.

The news release urged anyone who sees either Monkman or Jawbone to call 911 immediately and not approach them.

Police said they’ll provide an update on the Amber Alert at a news conference scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
