The Mexican rendezvous

May 8, 2026 Team Contributor

Your next Mexico trip just got better. In keeping with the brand message, Westin opens its first all-inclusive resort on Mexico’s Pacific Coast, overlooking Banderas Bay. It signals a new chapter driven by customer delight, combining the best of design, exquisite experience and Westin’s commitment to well-being.

The Mexican rendezvous

It’s a multi-million-dollar transformation that blends biophilic design principles with a relaxed beach-house aesthetic.

Formerly The Westin Resort & Spa, Puerto Vallarta, the property in its stunning new avatar boasts revamped guest rooms and new adults-only swim-up suites, dining venues, wellness spaces, and much more.

The credit for architectural design goes to Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos, and while the interiors were done by Uribe Krayer and Vida Design Studio.

Guests will find a seamless connection with the surrounding landscape as they move through the many open-air spaces coming alive with tranquil tones and lush, nature-filled sanctuaries. All around, there’s lush greenery offering the perfect respite, with a cultural fusion of handmade ceramics by Mexican artists, woven together with warm oak finishes for an earthy, nostalgic feel.

The rustic charm blends thoughtfully with original artwork by Berenice Hernández Castro, creating a natural experiential rhythm.

Federico Greppi, President, Caribbean and Latin America (CALA), Marriott International, optimistically says, “The opening of The Westin Playa Vallarta marks a significant milestone for Marriott International and for the Westin brand in the Caribbean and Latin America. As the first Westin All-Inclusive resort in Mexico, this property represents an evolution of the all-inclusive experience—one that stays true to Westin’s well-being ethos while responding to the growing demand for elevated, experience-driven all-inclusive travel in the region.”

What makes the Westin Playa Vallarta unique

Hugo Lecanda, General Manager of The Westin Playa Vallarta, welcomes guests to immerse themselves in the refreshing, relaxed life on the Pacific coast and take back elevated experiences the resort promises for both body and mind. Here’s everything you need to know.
