You can’t spell “Toy Story” without TS. And Jessie? Confirmed Swiftie.

Taylor Swift revealed Monday she’ll be featured on the fifth Toy Story film’s soundtrack with an original song titled, I Knew It, I Knew You, out Friday June 5.

“It’s a *Toy* Story 🤠 You knew it!” she wrote in a message on Instagram. “I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid.”

Plenty of Easter eggs

In typical Swift fashion, the announcement came in the form of a countdown on her website, featuring a graphic of Toy Story‘s cowgirl Jessie and a billboard with the star’s initials written in the film’s font, subtly hinting at her involvement.

Speculation had started to ramp up on social media after Pixar posted a video on Instagram featuring a TS billboard, alongside Jessie doing a dance on top of the sign. The caption said, “She’s making those moves up as she goes,” a reference to Swift’s 2014 hit song Shake it Off.

The billboard had also shown up in different locations and cities, including a spot in Toronto’s Union Station, featured on Pixar’s Instagram carousel.

Fans began spiralling on social media, quickly noting that there were 13 clouds on the billboard, the star’s well-known favourite number.

Unsurprisingly, they dove into Easter eggs even further, noticing her fifth album 1989 (Taylor’s Version), had an updated cover on streaming services, showcasing clouds in the place of birds, a subtle reference to the Pixar franchise. Clouds also appeared when searching “Taylor Swift” on TikTok.

Not her first rodeo

This wouldn’t be Swift’s first dance into animation. The 14-time Grammy winner voiced the role of Audrey in the 2012 film The Lorax.

She has also appeared in an episode of Disney’s animated short series Take Two with Phineas and Ferb, playing herself.

Toy Story 5 is set to hit theatres June 19, with Tom Hanks and Tim Allen returning in the roles of Woody and Buzz. This time, they’re dealing with a new threat: technology.
