The flash flooding struck one week ago after a glacier collapsed in the Himalayan border region between Nepal and China.
Drone footage from Wednesday shows skeletal remains of homes and mud-caked debris in the Nepalese town of Devighat, which sits on the banks of the Trishuli river, after deadly flash floods tore through the region last week.
More than 1,100 people were killed and more than 3,900 are missing.
Nepal’s Foreign Ministry says about 590 foreign nationals from 39 countries remain unaccounted for.
Anand says Canada will be sending more than 18,000 emergency items from Canadian Red Cross stockpiles to the area in addition to the $5 million Ottawa has already pledged in humanitarian aid.
