Nothing beats sipping coffee as you move through the clouds, sitting cozily on a flight. Two of Canada’s most popular brands are teaming up to deliver exactly the same nostalgic feel, high up.
Starting November 30, 2026, WestJet passengers can sip a cup of Tim Hortons coffee, custom-brewed for the skies, as part of a new partnership between the airline and the coffee chain.
Flight Roast – The coffee blend made for the skies
Flight Roast- that’s the name of the coffee blend created exclusively for WestJet by Tim Hortons’ in-house coffee experts to taste good at 35,000 feet.
Did you know lower cabin pressure and the typical dry air enveloping you on a flight can dull your sense of taste and smell? So if you’ve ever thought “This coffee tastes fine on the ground but strangely bitter or bland on the plane,” you’re not imagining it.
So instead of pouring the usual Tims blend into an in-flight cup, the team built something designed to taste its best up in the air. Flight Roast is a 100 percent Premium Arabica blend, roasted to a full medium, with a smooth, balanced profile that brings out hints of toasted nuts, cocoa, and red fruit.
Going forward, it will be served on every WestJet flight alongside regular inflight refreshments, alongside Tim Hortons tea—a lovely addition for coffee lovers onboard.
“Some partnerships just make sense, bringing together WestJet, Canada’s famously welcoming airline with Tim Horton’s, Canada’s favourite coffee is one of them,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Group Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer. “We’re excited to welcome Tim Hortons and its new Flight Roast blend onboard, giving guests a little taste of home with every cup while reinforcing our ongoing commitment to delivering Canadians with a welcoming experience.”
A loyalty partnership brewing in the new year
The coffee is only part of the story. Starting in 2027, WestJet Rewards and Tims Rewards members will be able to link their two accounts together, letting everyday Tim Hortons runs earn WestJet points.
That means your morning coffee stop could start quietly working toward your next getaway. Linked accounts can also unlock exclusive offers and promotions, with more specifics expected closer to rollout.
More than the coffee story
There’s something fitting about two homegrown Canadian brands joining forces. WestJet has spent nearly three decades connecting Canadians to destinations across the country and beyond. As for Tim Hortons, it is woven into the everyday rhythm of Canadian life.
