Few hotel spas manage to hold onto a top industry title once. Guerlain Spa Toronto has now done it three years in a row.
The spa, located within Hotel X Toronto, has been named Canada’s Best Hotel Spa by the World Spa Awards for the third consecutive year, a distinction that places it among the country’s most consistently recognized wellness destinations.
The latest recognition comes as wellness tourism continues to gain momentum across the travel industry. From luxury resorts and urban retreats to cruise lines expanding their wellness offerings, travellers are increasingly looking for experiences that prioritize relaxation, recovery and overall wellbeing alongside traditional hospitality.
Earlier this year, Norwegian Cruise Line unveiled Norwegian Aura, its newest vessel scheduled to enter service in 2027, reflecting the growing industry focus on premium guest experiences. Within the hotel sector, spas have become an increasingly important part of that conversation.
Three years at the top
Presented annually, the World Spa Awards recognize excellence across the global spa and wellness industry through a combination of industry votes and consumer feedback.
For Guerlain Spa Toronto, the 2026 award extends a winning streak that began in 2024 and has now continued for three consecutive years.
Located on the shores of Lake Ontario within Hotel X Toronto, the spa combines Guerlain’s French wellness heritage with modern treatments designed for today’s luxury traveller. The facility features 10 treatment rooms overlooking the waterfront, creating a setting that feels removed from the pace of downtown Toronto despite being minutes from the city’s core.
Wellness travel continues to evolve
Wellness is no longer viewed as an add-on amenity. Increasingly, it plays a central role in how travellers choose hotels, destinations and vacation experiences.
Guerlain Spa Toronto has continued to expand its offerings, including the introduction of the Complete Rejuvenation Ritual, an exclusive head-to-toe treatment available at the property. Treatments are based on Guerlain’s proprietary techniques and wellness protocols, bringing elements of the Paris-based brand’s expertise to the Toronto market.
“Three years in a row, and it’s all thanks to our incredible team and clientele,” said Jennifer Loyola, Director of Guerlain Spa Toronto.
“At Guerlain Spa, we strive for perfection in every guest experience, and we’re incredibly grateful for this recognition. Guerlain’s legacy in beauty and wellness inspires us every day, and we are proud to carry that legacy forward here in Toronto.”
As demand grows for wellness-focused getaways, award-winning spas often become attractive options for clients seeking relaxation, self-care and premium accommodations in a single destination. Advisors looking to connect with travellers searching for professional travel guidance can create a profile through the Canadian Travel News’ travel advisor platform.
More than just a hotel spa
The recognition also draws attention to Hotel X Toronto’s extensive offers.
Part of the Destination by Hyatt brand, the property features 404 guestrooms and suites, a year-round heated rooftop pool, the 10XTO athletic club, multiple dining venues, a cinema, art gallery and more than 60,000 square feet of event space.
Together, those amenities have helped establish the hotel as a destination for both leisure and business travellers visiting Toronto.
With wellness continuing to influence travel choices, a third consecutive World Spa Awards victory further strengthens Guerlain Spa Toronto’s position in Canada’s luxury hospitality market. Travellers planning a wellness-focused stay in Toronto can also connect with travel advisors who can help match them with experiences tailored to their travel goals.
