RCMP have issued an Amber Alert for a seven-year-old girl who police say was abducted from her home in northwest Alberta.
In an alert issued shortly after 10:15 a.m. MT on Monday, police said Aspen Wilson, 7, was abducted from her residence in the town of Valleyview, Alta.
RCMP said Aspen is described as four feet tall, slim, with shoulder-length curly blond hair and blue eyes.
RCMP said Aspen was taken by her stepfather Alexander Stone.
Police said Stone is 28 years old, six feet five inches tall, weighing 185 lbs, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
Stone is believed to be driving a grey 2004 Chevrolet Venture van with Alberta licence plate CWY-3459.
RCMP said they believe Stone and his stepdaughter may be driving to either Slave Lake, Alta., or Red Deer, Atla.
The alert, issued by the Valleyview RCMP, is in effect for the entire province of Alberta.
RCMP have said that Stone and his vehicle should not be approached.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact RCMP or call 911 immediately, police said.
