An Air Canada flight headed from Toronto to Las Vegas was forced to detour and land in Iowa on Wednesday, a spokesperson for Des Moines International Airport says.
Air Canada Flight 1702 was diverted to Des Moines after reports of smoke in the cockpit, spokesperson Sarah Hoodjer told CBC News.
Hoodjer said the plane landed safely around 4 p.m.
The passengers were deplaned and Air Canada was arranging a new plane to take the passengers to Toronto, she said.
Hoodjer added that the aircraft will be evaluated.
