Air Canada Named a Top Employer for Young People for Third Straight Year

January 20, 2026 Billy Walker

Air Canada has once again been recognized as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People for 2026, marking the third consecutive year the airline has received the distinction from Mediacorp.

The award highlights Air Canada’s ongoing commitment to creating meaningful career opportunities for young Canadians and helping them build skills that support long-term growth—both within the company and across the broader aviation and travel sector.

“We are very proud of our progressive HR programs, which again have earned Air Canada recognition as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People,” said Arielle Meloul-Wechsler, Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer and Public Affairs at Air Canada. “There has never been a more exciting time to build a future in aviation, especially as Air Canada embarks on its New Frontiers growth phase.”

For students and early-career professionals, Air Canada offers paid internship programs across a wide range of disciplines, along with hands-on professional development opportunities. Through its Work Integrated Learning Program, the airline partners with universities across Canada to provide post-secondary students with real-world work experience. Over the past year alone, more than 100 interns joined Air Canada teams across multiple departments.

Beyond on-the-job experience, interns and young professionals also have access to online training resources, including courses to strengthen second-language skills and deepen understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion. Additional workshops hosted by Air Canada’s talent team focus on practical career tools such as résumé writing, LinkedIn optimization, and interview preparation.

To help new hires feel supported from day one, Air Canada also offers a buddy system that pairs young professionals with experienced team members. Throughout the year, participants are invited to networking events and career orientation sessions held at the airline’s training centre, museum and hangar—giving them a behind-the-scenes look at the many career paths available within the organization.

As Canada’s largest airline continues to grow, Air Canada says investing in young talent remains a key priority—helping ensure the next generation is ready to lead the future of aviation
