It might officially be spring, but winter is making a full comeback across the province today, leading to plenty of school cancellations.

According to CBC meteorologist Ryan Snoddon, between five and 10 centimetres of snow are expected across Nova Scotia on Tuesday, with the potential for more than 10 centimetres in the province’s northeast, including Truro and Antigonish.

In Halifax, Environment Canada says there will be periods of snow that will begin mixing with ice pellets in the afternoon.

All schools in the Halifax Regional Centre for Education, the Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education, the Strait Regional Centre for Education and the South Shore Regional Centre for Education are closed today due to the weather conditions.

The Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education says classes have been cancelled at Baddeck Academy, Rankin School of the Narrows and Middle River. All other schools in the district will close two hours early.
