Billy Joel has cancelled eight concert dates, including a Toronto show at the Rogers Centre this Saturday, due to a medical condition.
The American singer, songwriter and pianist, 75, said in an Instagram post on Tuesday that his tour will be postponed for four months to give him time to recover from surgery and to take part in physical therapy while being supervised by his doctors. Joel is expected to make a full recovery, according to the post.
Joel has been rescheduled to perform in Toronto on March 14, 2026 at the Rogers Centre.
“While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first. I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding,” Joel says in the post.
The tour itself is set to resume at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on July 5, 2025.
According to the post, all tickets bought for the show on Saturday will automatically be valid for the rescheduled show in 2026.
Joel’s first song to reach the Billboard Hot 100 chart was Piano Man in 1974.
