When two sisters are reunited in the middle of the night to hold a funeral for the frozen corpse of their childhood cat, they begin to uncover more of themselves, their shared pain, and the things left unsaid. When two sisters are reunited in the middle of the night to hold a funeral for the frozen corpse of their childhood cat, they begin to uncover more of themselves, their shared pain, and the things left unsaid. The line between what is real and what is dreamt is blurred in the quiet of a hot summer night. Talking to Dead Cats in the Night is a one act, dark comedy by Kiera Publicover (Isle of Demons, The Birds) that explores themes such as sisterhood, memory, family and childhood. In this surreal nighttime dreamscape, the audience follows two sisters on their unique paths to healing through sisterhood and remembering.

Starring Simone Matheson (The Candlemaker’s Game, WARP) as Gretchen and Sofie Jarvis (Medusa, Many Young Men of Twenty) as Nora. Directed by Lizzie Song (Ride the Cyclone, The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals) with Set Design by Emily Dix (The Rear Window, The Birds), Projection Design by Franco Pang (Bad Poetry, SAMCA) and Sound Design by Ashley Naomi (The Little Prince, Grigas).
