I’m Ethan Williams, a weather specialist with CBC Saskatchewan.

The forecast today calls for a balmy high of 5 C but the same can’t be said for previous parades.

The last parade on Nov. 26, 2013, saw a high of –6 C. According to data from Environment Canada and the National Weather Service, there was already between eight and 16 centimetres of snow on the ground that day.

The parade on Nov. 27, 2007, saw blowing snow, adding to the two to five centimetres already on the ground. The wind made the high of –16 C feel closer to –30 C that day, according to the Regina Leader-Post.

Of course, this year’s parade is about a week earlier than the two previous events. Temperatures for next week in Regina show below-freezing daytime highs and the possibility of accumulating snow.
