Winnipeg police announce arrest in arson case

Winnipeg police are holding a news conference Wednesday afternoon about the arrest of a suspect charged with a number of arsons in the city.

A 35-year-old man has been arrested after police say he was responsible for multiple arsons in Winnipeg, including fires at the constituency office of two Manitoba cabinet ministers and several restaurants.

Jesse Robert Shawn Wheatland is facing several charges in connection with the incidents, city police said at a news conference Wednesday.
