A man is dead after a shooting on a bus Sunday night, according to police.

The man was shot on a bus near the GO terminal by Yorkdale Road and William R. Allen Road ramp around 7:00 p.m., Toronto Police Service (TPS) said on social media.

The other passengers and GO staff were safely removed from the bus, according to a statement from Metrolinx media relations. Police and EMS are on site, Metrolinx said.

“Buses will not be servicing Yorkdale GO at this time. Customers are able to board at York Mills terminal, instead,” the statement said.

Det.-Sgt. Jason Davis from the Homicide and Missing Persons Unit said in a scrum that a suspect has been arrested and a firearm seized.

The TPS homicide unit has taken over the investigation.
