The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is recalling a batch of No Name frozen beef burgers due to a risk of E. coli contamination.

The affected burgers were sold nationally in 1.36 kg boxes with a best before date of May 5, 2026.

People are being advised to throw out the effected product or return it to where it was bought. Do not cook or consume the burgers.

The agency says food contaminated with E. coli O157:H7 may not look or smell spoiled, but that it can still make someone sick.

Symptoms of E. coli contamination can include nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps and watery to bloody diarrhea. In severe cases, people can experience stroke or kidney damage.

There have not been any reports of illness connected to the recall. The CFIA is continuing to investigate, though, and says other products could be recalled.
