This year’s Older & Reckless bill includes “Tomato Blues” a quirky and curious dance theatre piece created and performed by Lina Cruz, Montreal based choreographer; “MESTIZA” (Mixed raced woman in Spanish), an interdisciplinary project that investigates “body and territory” by Colombian-Canadian choreographer Olga Barrios; and “My House” a piece that is part of Danza Corpus Canada Dance Theatre’ s series on social issues, created by Cuban born Choreographer Jose Angel Carret and performed alongside Swedish dancer Johanna Bergfelt.
The program also features a new dance created by Nicola Pantin for this year’s Older & Reckless Community Performance Project. 21 dance enthusiasts are ready to take the Harbourfront Centre Stage with lifelong dance professionals Bonnie Kim and Julia Sasso.
This year Moonhorse Dance Theatre is premiering a new initiative – Crossing the Streams. Older & Reckless will now include one work that demonstrates a collaboration between two or more artists of diverging disciplines who seek to continue the breaking of boundaries within the performance milieu. To launch this program blind writer, theatre artist, and educator, Alex Bulmer, is creating an original piece to be translated into dance by renowned interpreter Danielle Baskerville.
