The Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) is investigating after a fight between coaching staff at a U13 game in Lakeshore, Ont., on Sunday.

The game was between the Riverside Rangers and Belle River Canadiens.

“This incident is currently under investigation and all bench staff on both teams have been suspended indefinitely pending a hearing,” said the OMHA in a statement put forward by spokesperson Mitchell Machtinger.

“Situations like this have no place in minor hockey and do not reflect the values of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association.”

In a post on LiveBarn — an ice rink streaming service — coaching staff can be seen congregating near one of the benches after the game on the ice when a fight ensues with punches being thrown with players nearby.

“We are aware of an incident that occurred over the weekend involving one of our teams/coaches,” posted the Belle River Canadiens on Facebook.

“We can share that we are deeply disappointed that this situation occurred. The actions captured do not reflect the values or expectations of Belle River District Minor Hockey members.”

Riverside Minor Hockey Association President Anne Marie Schofield echoed a similar response when asked by CBC News for comment.

“I appreciate you reaching out, however, since this is an ongoing investigation with the OMHA, we are unable to provide any comment at this time,” she said in an email.

Riverside won the game 6-5.
