Brecht’s timely satirical critique of capitalism takes us through London’s criminal underworld where we are plunged into the underbelly of the Savoy Hotel, Grape Lane Brothel, and JJ Peachum’s Emporium for Beggars. Exhilarating and provocative, The Threepenny Opera offers a gritty and confrontational depiction of a corrupt capitalist class system and hypocritical bourgeois morality with a dash of humour! A bold and dynamic ensemble of performers take on Kurt Weill’s jazzy cabaret-style score including iconic favourites like ‘Mack the Knife’ and ‘Pirate Jenny.’
