A man from Sherbrooke, Que., has been charged with first-degree murder in connection to the 2023 killing of Franz Drosch of Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

David Faucher, 30, is wanted by the Newfoundland and Labrador RCMP and is the subject of a Canada-wide arrest warrant.

The RCMP said Friday morning Faucher is actively evading police. He is believed to be in the Sherbrooke region but may have connections to the Trois-Riviere region of Quebec and Mexico.

Police believe he is driving a grey 2026 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with Quebec licence plate FTV 8960.

Faucher is described as five foot 11 inches tall, 190 pounds with brown eyes.

The public is warned not to approach Faucher, and are asked to call 911 if he is seen.

The police are also asking any member of the public with information related to Faucher’s movements to contact them.

Drosch was 43 when he was killed in a Happy Valley-Goose Bay home.
