G Adventures builds on its flexible booking approach

August 21, 2026 Team Contributor

TORONTO – G Adventures is giving travellers more flexibility when booking an adventure with the launch of its new Stay Flexy Adventure Plans.

The three-tier programme – Flexy, Flexier and Flexiest – ease one of the biggest concerns that can come with booking a trip in advance: what happens if plans change.

The new options provide different levels of cancellation protection, with the higher tiers adding Future Travel Credits and pre-departure benefits. The move builds on G Adventures’ existing booking approach, including its Lifetime Deposit programme, low deposits and guaranteed departures.

G Adventures builds on its flexible booking approach

The launch comes as G Adventures continues to give travellers more reasons to commit to small-group adventure travel. Earlier this year, the company’s annual sale offered savings of up to 25 per cent on selected trips, giving travellers another opportunity to lock in an adventure at a lower price.

The company’s latest flexibility plans take a different approach, focusing less on the upfront cost and more on what happens if a traveller’s circumstances change after booking.

The entry-level Flexy option assists travellers who are fairly certain they will travel but want some protection if plans change. Trips cancelled more than 60 days before departure qualify for a full refund, while the Lifetime Deposit remains on file.

For cancellations made between 59 and 30 days before departure, up to 50 per cent of the tour value can be refunded. Within 29 days of departure, the Lifetime Deposit is retained and the remaining amount is subject to applicable cancellation fees.

Flexier and Flexiest offer added protection

Flexier provides a longer window for protecting the value of a booking. Travellers cancelling between 29 and 21 days before departure can have their remaining money protected through a combination of Lifetime Deposit and Future Travel Credit. The credits are valid for 24 months.

The middle tier also includes a 1GB travel eSIM, up to US$500 in lost luggage protection, priority service and double the trees grown on the traveller’s behalf during the trip.

At the top is Flexiest, designed for travellers who want the greatest level of reassurance. The plan protects the traveller’s money through Future Travel Credits and the Lifetime Deposit for cancellations made between 20 and five days before departure.

It also includes a 3GB travel eSIM, up to US$1,000 in lost luggage protection, priority service and double the trees grown during the trip.

The new plans also fit into G Adventures’ broader philosophy around travel. In a recent Canadian Travel News conversation, Managing Director Canada David Green discussed the company’s approach to community tourism, sustainability and adventure travel. A new tool for travel advisors

G Adventures says the plans are also intended to make the booking conversation easier for travel advisors.

“Booking an adventure should be exciting, not daunting, and these new flexible booking options provide agents with another tool to help turn ‘I’m thinking about it’ into ‘I’m booking it’.” said David Green, Global VP, Customer Sales & Solutions and Managing Director, Canada.

Green added that uncertainty, rather than a lack of interest in travelling, can often be behind a customer’s hesitation to book.

For advisors, the Flex options are commissionable at the same rate as the tour and are non-refundable. G Adventures also says eligible trip add-ons, including transfers and pre- or post-trip accommodation, can receive flexible booking protection when added later at no additional cost.

With travellers increasingly looking for greater certainty when committing to trips well ahead of departure, G Adventures is positioning Stay Flexy as another way to reduce the risk of saying yes to an adventure.

For readers interested in previous G Adventures offers, Canadian Travel News also covered the company’s annual sale, which featured savings of up to 25 per cent on selected adventures. Read more: G Adventures annual sale offers savings of up to 25 per cent
