Montreal police will provide an update Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. on their investigation into the killing of 15-year-old Longueuil, Que., teen, Nooran Rezayi.

In a statement released Tuesday, the SPVM said it would report on its findings and provide details regarding recent arrests.

On Sept. 21, 2025, Rezayi, who was unarmed, was shot dead by Longueuil police barely 10 seconds after officers parked their cruiser while responding to a 911 call.

Quebec’s police watchdog, the Bureau des enquêtes indépendante (BEI), was informed of the shooting an hour and 36 minutes after it happened.

It launched an investigation into the fatal shooting. In parallel, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) also opened its own investigation.

In March, the BEI announced that it had finished its report and delivered it to the DPCP, Quebec’s public prosecution service. It will decide whether to lay charges against the officer who killed Rezayi.
