If you’re looking for Air Transat Québec City flights to Europe, you can now book tickets from Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport. Air Transat has announced two new exclusive non-stop summer 2027 routes from (YQB): Lyon, France and Barcelona, Spain.
The Barcelona service will be the first non-stop link between Québec City and Spain. It opens easier access to Catalonia, Valencia, the Balearics, and cheap onward flights or the AVE high-speed train to Madrid. A direct flight to Barcelona seems like a real upgrade.
These are in addition to Air Transat’s recent exclusive Québec City routes to Marseille and Nantes, which began operating this year.
Canadian travellers from Québec City can now access southeastern France from Lyon without Paris prices or crowds. They can now get to the gastronomic capital of France, and it’s a gateway to the Alps, Beaujolais, the Rhône Valley and Annecy,
Air Transat will also offer year-round service between Québec City and Puerto Plata, giving travellers access to Transat vacation packages to this Caribbean destination year-round.
New Air Transat service from Québec City for summer 2027
| Route | Operating period | Day | Frequency |
| Québec City (YQB)–Lyon (LYS), France | June 8 to October 26, 2027 | Tuesday | Once weekly |
| Québec City (YQB)–Barcelona (BCN), Spain | June 14 to October 25, 2027 | Monday | Once weekly |
| Québec City (YQB)–Puerto Plata (POP), Dominican Republic | Year-round | Monday in summer | Once weekly in summer |
“Lyon and Barcelona mark a new milestone for Air Transat in Québec City,” said Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Transat. “These additions will bring our non-stop European destinations from Québec City to five for summer 2027, alongside Paris, Marseille and Nantes. With Puerto Plata now available year-round, we are also strengthening our schedule from Québec City with a more diverse offering, both to Europe and to sun destinations.”
“Our community has long been asking for service to Barcelona and Lyon, and we are absolutely delighted to see these routes become a reality,” said Stéphane Poirier, President and CEO of Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport. “With this unprecedented range of non-stop flights, YQB will be better connected to Europe than ever before, marking an important milestone for our airport.
These additions reflect our travellers’ strong interest in Europe and open up exciting opportunities for Quebecers. Year-round service to Puerto Plata also confirms the sustained appeal of this sun destination, which is excellent news for travelers seeking a getaway in any season. We welcome these additions as a strong vote of confidence from Air Transat in our thriving market.”
The big win- skipping Montréal
For most travellers, getting to Europe from Québec City meant one of two things: a 3-hour drive or train to Montréal-Trudeau, or a short hop to Montréal with a connection. Either way, you add a travel day. A non-stop from YQB means you’re in the Old Capital’s “the smallest of the great airports,” and landing in Europe the next morning.
Lyon becomes a smarter landing point. Combined with the existing Marseille service, travellers can do a one-way-in, one-way-out Southern France trip: fly into Lyon, rail down the Rhône to Provence, fly home from Marseille.
Air Transat serves seven French cities from Montréal—Paris, Marseille, Nantes, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Nice, and Lyon. From Quebec City, it connects to three French cities: Paris, Marseille, and Nantes.
Demand from Québec City is clearly strong, which means more choices, and possibly more competition and better fares, in the years ahead.
Quebec travellers dreaming of a European summer can connect with a travel advisor to explore flight options, discover vacation packages and plan their ideal getaway. Whether it’s Barcelona’s lively streets or Lyon’s food, culture and riverside charm, which destination tops your to-do list?
