New Redemption Options Expand Travel Flexibility

July 17, 2026 Team Contributor

Air Canada’s Aeroplan and World of Hyatt have teamed up to enhance member rewards. The partnership expands earning, redemption, point-conversion, and elite-status opportunities across both programs.

For travellers who regularly fly Air Canada and stay at Hyatt properties, the partnership creates a more integrated loyalty experience and additional ways to extract value from every trip. The collaboration connects Aeroplan’s extensive flight network with World of Hyatt’s portfolio of more than 1,500 hotels and resorts.

New Redemption Options Expand Travel Flexibility

One of the biggest changes in the partnership is the introduction of cross-program redemption opportunities, giving members new ways to use their points beyond flights or hotel stays.

Aeroplan members can now redeem their points for World of Hyatt Free Night Awards at eligible Hyatt hotels and resorts. Redemption options include Category 1-4 and Category 1-7 Free Night Awards, with awards starting at 25,000 Aeroplan points. The added flexibility comes as Aeroplan continues to enhance member benefits, building on initiatives introduced during its 40th anniversary celebrations.

World of Hyatt members are also gaining a new flight-focused redemption option. They can now redeem World of Hyatt points for a 30,000-point Aeroplan flight reward certificate, which can be used toward flight rewards with Air Canada and its airline partners.

Enhanced Earning Potential for Frequent Travellers

Travellers who link their accounts can unlock additional earning opportunities, particularly those holding eligible Aeroplan credit cards issued in Canada. Depending on the card type, members can earn both World of Hyatt bonus points and Aeroplan points on eligible spending at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts.

The dual-earning feature is especially valuable for business travellers and frequent guests who want to accelerate rewards balances across both programs simultaneously.

Benefits for Air Canada Aeroplan & World of Hyatt Members

  • Aeroplan members can earn rewards on eligible stays at participating Hyatt properties.
  • Members may choose to earn 500 Aeroplan points per stay instead of World of Hyatt points.
  • Linked account holders can convert World of Hyatt points to Aeroplan points at a 2:1 ratio.
  • Eligible Aeroplan Elite Status members can convert Aeroplan points into World of Hyatt bonus points at a 2:1 ratio, subject to program limits.
  • Aeroplan credit cardholders can earn additional points and bonus rewards on eligible Hyatt spending.

The partnership is particularly relevant for frequent business travellers, Canadians, and points-and-miles enthusiasts seeking more value from both flight and hotel bookings.

Faster Access to Elite Status

Aeroplan Elite Status members and eligible Aeroplan Premium Credit Cardholders can now pursue World of Hyatt status through a 90-day challenge. Depending on the number of qualifying nights completed, members can earn Discoverist, Explorist, or Globalist status.

Premium cardholders receive additional advantages, including complimentary World of Hyatt Discoverist status, annual tier-qualifying night credits, and multiple opportunities to participate in the status challenge. The focus on helping travellers maximize loyalty points comes as the airline continues to expand value across its travel ecosystem, including through its recent Air Canada Vacation’s summer booking incentives.

For travellers who frequently combine flights and hotel stays, the partnership creates a more connected path to rewards, recognition, and travel benefits across both brands.
