Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford, died on Sunday at age 27, a family representative said.
The Santa Monica Police Department is investigating Gerber’s death as a suspected overdose, according to a release.

“A deputy medical examiner (DME) performed an examination today and the cause and manner of death have been deferred, which means additional testing and/or studies were requested in order to make a determination,” the office wrote in a release.
“Due to the ongoing death investigation, the DME cannot disclose what testing and/or studies were requested. Deferred cases can take a few months before a cause of death is determined.”
In an email to CBC News, the office confirmed the investigation is ongoing and that there is “limited information available.”
“Gerber’s death was pronounced at 9:45 a.m. on Sept 20 by responding paramedics and that The Santa Monica Police Department is the investigating law enforcement agency,” the statement said.
No cause of death or further details have been shared at this time.
The death was confirmed by Allie Jenkins, a representative for Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber.
“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” Jenkins said in an email Sunday night.
Presley was the older brother of model and actress Kaia Gerber.
His fashion work included campaigns and runway appearances for brands such as Calvin Klein and Dolce & Gabbana. In 2018, he appeared alongside his mother in Pepsi’s Super Bowl LII commercial.
