WARNING: This video contains disturbing and graphic details of Philippe Pinette’s life in jail.
Pinette, a 40-year-old Innu man from Uashat, near Sept-Îles on Quebec’s North Shore, died in hospital on Sept. 19, 2022, while under the care of the Quebec City detention centre. The province’s ombudsman pointed out multiple failures in the care provided.
