Air Canada just redefined the premium flight experience with a massive investment in its next-generation “Glowing Hearted” cabins. Unveiled on April 14, 2026, at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany, this complete redesign sets a new benchmark for comfort and Canadian craftsmanship.

These upgraded cabins will first appear on the upcoming Airbus A321XLR and Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner fleets starting in late 2026.
The new “Glowing Hearted” standard aims to redefine the flying experience through a distinctly Canadian lens, prioritizing comfort, care, and connection.
Here’s a detailed look at what makes it quintessentially Canadian.
Redefining single-aisle travel
Starting this summer, the Airbus A321XLR will transform how Canadians fly trans-Atlantic and transcontinental routes from Toronto and Montréal. For the first time in Canada, a single-aisle aircraft will offer a true lie-flat Signature Class experience.
- First Lie-Flat Single-Aisle Seats: Canada’s first narrow-body plane to offer 14 lie-flat Air Canada Signature Class seats.
- Signature Tech: Every seat includes a 19-inch 4K OLED screen, Bluetooth audio, and a leather-wrapped night table with wireless charging.
- Enhanced Economy: Even the 168 Economy seats are completely reimagined with ergonomic designs and built-in tablet holders.
- Canadian Welcome: The aesthetic is unmistakably Canadian. Passengers boarding the A321XLR are greeted by a backlit canopy of maple leaves.

The flagship 787-10 and signature plus suites
When the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner enters service later in 2026, it will take over as the flagship of the long-haul fleet. The star of this aircraft is the exclusive “Air Canada Signature Plus Suite”.

- Elite Signature Plus Suites: Four suites at the front of the cabin featuring a two-metre (6’5”) lie-flat bed and a quartzite stone table.
- Social Group Travel: If you are travelling with a group, the two centre suites include a fully retractable privacy panel that creates a shared social space for up to four people during cruise
- Cinematic Entertainment: Signature Plus suites boast massive 27-inch 4K OLED screens—the largest ever in the Air Canada fleet.
- Premium Economy Upgrades: 28 seats featuring extended privacy wings for added comfort and 16-inch 4K OLED screens.
- Impeccable aesthetics – On the 787-10, premium travellers pass through a wave-like entrance monument inspired by Canada’s waterways, anchored by a bronze Air Canada rondelle. Throughout the cabins, red stitching, wood grain details, and stone accents evoke a modern, restorative sense of home
Refined digital experience for everyone aboard
Air Canada didn’t just upgrade the seats; they overhauled the technology.
Every passenger now enjoys significantly larger 4K OLED screens with Bluetooth audio, allowing you to use your own headphones wirelessly.

Screen sizes range from 13 inches in Economy to a massive 27 inches in the Signature Plus Suites. High-powered USB-C and AC power outlets are available at every single seat to keep devices charged
Going beyond- Elevating the entire fleet
The glowing hearted transformation extends beyond new aircraft to the existing fleet through a major retrofit program.
- Mainline Retrofits: A320 and A321 aircraft will return to the mainline fleet for full interior retrofits to meet the new standard.
- 737 MAX to Rouge: These aircraft will transition to Rouge in 2026 and receive seatback entertainment and free Wi-Fi sponsored by Bell.
- Regional Consistency: Air Canada Express aircraft are also receiving new cabins and next-generation fast, free Wi-Fi for a seamless journey.
By focusing on enduring quality and functionality, Air Canada’s latest investment signals a bold ambition to become a global leader in travel.
Whether you are crossing the Atlantic or flying between provinces, the new “Glowing Hearted” cabins promise a journey defined by comfort, care, and a true Canadian welcome
