Three New European Gateways Join the Summer 2027 Network

September 4, 2026 Team Contributor

Air Canada is preparing to take its global network to new heights in summer 2027 with one of its most extensive route expansions to date. The airline is adding seven new Air Canada Toronto flight routes across Asia and Europe, alongside five key services that will either increase in frequency or operate year-round.

Across the summer schedule, Air Canada plans to offer more than 125 international routes, with up to 169,000 seats each week connecting Canada with more than 85 destinations. Air Canada’s expanded network brings European elegance, transpacific adventures and sun-soaked escapes across Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America within easy reach of Canadian travellers.

Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer and President, Cargo at Air Canada, says, “Overall, our schedule reflects our commitment to championing Canada around the world”.

Travellers departing Toronto will soon have new ways to reach some of Europe’s elite destinations. These include Norway’s dramatic fjord landscapes, Ireland’s rugged Atlantic coast and the glamour of the French Riviera.

Air Canada will launch seasonal service to Oslo, Norway, from June 2 to October 10, 2027. The route will operate four times weekly using the Airbus A321XLR. The aircraft features two cabins, including Air Canada Signature Class with lie-flat seats. This offers a premium transatlantic experience on the airline’s newest narrowbody aircraft.

Ireland is also gaining a new connection from Toronto. Beginning June 10, 2027, Air Canada will start three-times-weekly flights to Shannon. The service will provide direct access to the country’s west coast, the Wild Atlantic Way, and a region known for its coastal scenery, castles and heritage attractions. Shannon will complement Air Canada’s existing Dublin service, giving travellers another convenient gateway to Ireland.

Travellers dreaming of the Mediterranean, Nice becomes Air Canada’s newest French destination from Toronto. The route will operate twice weekly from June 16 through October 23, 2027. Flights will use Airbus A330-300 aircraft equipped with Signature Class, Premium Economy and Economy cabins.

The addition of Toronto-Nice will complement Air Canada’s existing Montréal-Nice flights. Together, they will create combined daily service to one of Europe’s most popular summer destinations. The announcement also comes as Air Canada continues to invest in key growth areas across its business, including its loyalty program. The program recently drew attention after reports estimated the value of Aeroplan and Air Canada’s ownership stake.

A New Year-Round Air Canada Toronto Flight Route Opens the Door to Guatemala

Guatemala is set to become even more accessible to travellers from Toronto, with Air Canada extending its new Guatemala City service throughout the year.

The airline will launch Toronto-Guatemala City service in December 2026, then extend the route to a year-round schedule from May 6, 2027. The airline will operate weekly Thursday flights on the Airbus A330-300.

Air Canada says the route will be the only non-stop connection between Toronto and Guatemala City, adding an exclusive edge for Canadian travellers. It will complement the airline’s existing service from Montréal, which launched in October 2025.

Travellers can further elevate their getaway with the range of holiday packages and experiences available through Air Canada Vacations.

London Day-Tripper Returns to Toronto

Air Canada is bringing back its popular London Heathrow Day-tripper, giving Toronto travellers another fine way to cross the Atlantic. Beginning May 1, the service will operate daily, becoming the airline’s fifth daily flight between Toronto and London Heathrow.

The early-morning departure from Toronto at 8:30 a.m. arrives in London at 9 p.m., while the return flight leaves Heathrow at 11:05 a.m. and reaches Toronto at 2:45 p.m. The year-round service will be operated on an Airbus A321XLR, featuring Air Canada Signature and Economy cabins.

The airline is also upgrading its global network with daily Toronto-Shanghai service, while its first Toronto-based Boeing 787-10 is expected to arrive later this year.

With more flights, unmatched flexibility and a premium long-haul experience, Air Canada is giving travellers even more reasons to start planning their next European escape.
