Frequent travellers who collect loyalty points through Blue Rewards and Porter Airlines’ VIPorter program now have a new reason to connect the two accounts.
Blue Rewards and Porter Airlines have announced a new partnership naming Porter the preferred airline partner of Blue Rewards.
Under the new arrangement, members can link their Blue Rewards and VIPorter accounts to earn VIPorter points faster on eligible Porter flights. You also get additional Blue Points when booking eligible Porter flights through Blue Rewards Travel.
Starting today, one trip can now bring benefits across both loyalty programs.
What do linked members get?
You get three main benefits: a welcome bonus, faster VIPorter earning, and additional Blue Points when redeeming rewards for eligible Porter flights.
Members who link their Blue Rewards and VIPorter accounts can immediately earn 500 Blue Points and 500 VIPorter points as a welcome offer.
Linked members earn additional VIPorter points on eligible Porter flight purchases, on top of the existing base earning rate of 5 to 7 VIPorter points per dollar spent, excluding taxes and fees.
The additional earning is:
- 1 extra VIPorter point for every $1 spent on eligible Porter flights when using an eligible linked BMO payment card.
- 1 extra VIPorter point for every $2 spent for other linked Blue Rewards members.
Blue Rewards says the arrangement can help members earn VIPorter points up to 20% faster.
Earn Bonus Blue Points when booking Porter flights
The partnership is not only about earning points when flying.
Members who redeem Blue Points for eligible Porter flights through Blue Rewards Travel, powered by Expedia, can receive bonus Blue Points based on the value of their flight booking.
- 1,000 bonus Blue Points for eligible flights valued up to $350
- 3,750 bonus Blue Points for flights valued from $351 to $450
- 7,500 bonus Blue Points for flights valued above $451
Quite an incentive to use Blue Points when booking eligible Porter flights through the Blue Rewards Travel platform.
Extra bonus available until November 30
There is also a limited-time offer for Blue Rewards members with an eligible BMO payment card. The relationship between Porter and BMO dates back to the launch of the BMO VIPorter Mastercard in 2025.
From Sept. 24 through Nov. 30, 2026, eligible members can earn up to 1,500 additional Blue Points when redeeming Blue Points for an eligible Porter flight through Blue Rewards Travel.
“VIPorter is a distinct and value-focused program,” said Edmond Eldebs, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Porter Airlines. “As the preferred airline partner of Blue Rewards, we are giving members more reasons to choose Porter and to enjoy our elevated economy experience more often.”
Blue Points-to-VIPorter conversion is coming
Blue Rewards says that, in the coming months, linked members will be able to convert Blue Points into VIPorter points at a 2:1 ratio.
That means the relationship between the two programs is expected to go beyond simply earning bonuses. Members will eventually be able to move Blue Points into the VIPorter program as well.

A good opportunity for frequent travellers
For travellers who already use both loyalty programs, the new partnership brings them closer together. Usually, travellers sometimes find it hard to juggle different balances, earning rules, and redemption options.
Members can link their accounts, earn additional VIPorter points when flying Porter, and receive Blue Points benefits when using Blue Rewards to book eligible Porter flights. This makes the approach easier and more connected.
For Blue Rewards members who regularly fly Porter, linking the two accounts could therefore add another layer of rewards to trips they were already planning.
