Why is this deal worth it for Canadian travel advisors?

October 20, 2026 Team Contributor

Winter’s coming, and Canadian travelers are looking to make the most of it by booking Puerto Rico vacations. The attractive Caribbean escape, with its iconic blue cobblestone streets of Old San Juan and the picturesque charm of Cordillera Central, draws 15,000 to 18,700 Canadian tourists to Puerto Rico annually.

If you’re a Canadian travel advisor, then this information is for you. Read on.

Discover Puerto Rico, the island’s official destination marketing organization, is giving travel professionals some pretty good reason to experience the Caribbean destination firsthand. They can unlock special hotel rates, earn rewards, and add a real destination experience, as the ideal time to visit Puerto Rico is just here.

Why is this deal worth it for Canadian travel advisors?

As a travel advisor, a destination experience helps you get more clients.

Advisors who have stayed on the island sell it better. Clients researching Puerto Rico travel tend to ask the same questions: Where should we stay? What’s the difference between San Juan and the resort areas? What is there to do beyond the beach? These offers let you answer from experience, comparing boutique hideaways, beachfront resorts, and rainforest escapes in person.

Whether you’re TICO-certified in Ontario, licensed in B.C. or Quebec, or building your name anywhere else in Canada, clients choose the advisor who has actually been there.

With many Canadians planning a Caribbean getaway this winter, the timing works in your favour. The current offer gives a real chance to flaunt the real destination experience while saving money and earning rewards. So the next time a client searches for Puerto Rico travel packages, you’ll know what to suggest.

What’s on offer for travel advisors?

Participating properties are offering a range of incentives, including discounts of up to 50% off the best available rate at select hotels, complimentary breakfast at participating resorts, and additional savings on hotel amenities. Select properties are also offering commissions of 12% to 20% on qualifying bookings, subject to individual hotel terms, minimum-stay requirements, and applicable booking and travel dates.

Travel advisors are encouraged to act now: offers vary by property and are subject to availability, so early inquiries are the best way to confirm eligibility and secure preferred dates.

Special hotel offers for travel advisors and how to book?

The offer features an unmissable line-up of participating properties that will host travel advisors and extend special rates to travel professionals. Offers are subject to each property’s individual terms, availability, and applicable booking and travel periods.

Advisors should contact participating hotels directly to confirm current rates, eligibility, minimum-stay requirements, and commission conditions before booking.

Here are the details:

  • O Boutique Hotel, O Fifty Five and Aire de O:live: It’s offering 50% off the best available rate, plus discounts on valet parking, minibar purchases and in-room amenities. Bookings are available through the hotels’ dedicated O Insiders portal.
  • Caribe Hilton: Eligible travel advisors can access a 25% discount off the best available rate at the time of booking. Booking is fairly simple. Reservations can be made through Hilton’s travel advisor portal or by calling the hotel directly at 787-721-0303.
  • Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde Beach Resort: A special Discover Puerto Rico travel advisor offer provides 15% off the best available rate for 2026, subject to availability. Contact re**********@*********rd.com or call 787-999-6500.
  • Hilton Garden Inn San Juan Condado: Travel professionals can access 25% off the best available rate, subject to availability, through the hotel’s travel advisor offer.
  • Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico: Advisors can receive 35% off the standard rate, plus breakfast for two adults, subject to availability. If you’re booking through Hyatt’s dedicated offer, use rate code PRM9.
  • Wyndham Palmas Beach & Golf Boutique Resort: If you’re a travel advisor with a valid IATA, CLIA, or TRUE number, you can access 40% off the best available rate. The offer is non-commissionable, subject to availability, and limited to two rooms.
  • Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Rainforest, Beach & Golf Resort: Here too, with a valid IATA, CLIA, or TRUE number, the resort offers 40% off the best available rate. The offer is non-commissionable, subject to availability, and limited to two rooms.
  • Parador MaunaCaribe: Advisors can earn a 15% commission based on the regular rate. Additional options include accommodation with breakfast from $159 per night for two people, and a family offer including breakfast, lunch, dinner and gratuities from $259.50 per night for two people. Contact jp****************@***il.com or call 787-861-3330 for details.

Turn your bookings into rewards

The hotel offers are only part of the story. As a Canadian travel advisor, you can also join the Discover Puerto Rico Rewards program. Earn points on every qualifying hotel booking, so each client you send to the island gets you more.

The program is open to advisors and travel agencies in Canada. Qualifying bookings count whether you make them through tour operators, wholesalers, or third-party providers, or directly with the hotel. Each reservation needs to include a minimum two-night stay, and you can redeem your points for rewards that include hotel stays and exclusive merchandise.

Put it all together, and you have several ways to benefit from selling Puerto Rico. You can experience the destination firsthand, then earn rewards when your clients book their own island escape. The best-selling advisors can answer the question every client asks: what are the best things to do in Puerto Rico? A site visit lets you move past brochure answers.

Because each offer has its own terms and room availability, advisors who reach out early have the best shot at their preferred dates.

It pays to be visible at the right place. Sell smarter with Canadian Travel Advisors, Canada’s fast-growing platform for travel advisors. More advisors are joining every month, and early members get the first look at new opportunities. Get registered!
