A thank you to loyal members

Two decades after introducing a comfy style of economy flying in Canada, Porter Airlines is celebrating by putting travel rewards directly into the hands of its loyal passengers. The airline’s latest anniversary campaign will award 20,000 VIPorter points every day for 20 days.

The Toronto-based carrier will award 20,000 points to one VIPorter member every day between Oct. 15 and Nov. 3, 2026.

The anniversary comes during a busy period for the airline and its loyalty program. Earlier this year, VIPorter expanded its reach through a new relationship with BMO Blue Rewards, giving members additional ways to earn and use points

Canadian VIPorter members who have taken a Porter flight or redeemed points between Oct. 1, 2025, and Nov. 2, 2026, will automatically be entered into the giveaway.

“Celebrating 20 years of service is about recognizing our passengers who have chosen to fly with us over the years,” said Edmond Eldebs, senior vice president and chief commercial officer at Porter Airlines.

“We are excited to mark this occasion by giving back to our loyal members. It’s our way of saying thank you.”

For many travellers, 20,000 points can go a long way. Porter says one-way redemption flights start at 5,000 points on select shorter routes, while longer domestic and transborder flights begin at 7,000 points. Some flights to Mexico and Caribbean destinations start at 10,000 points each way.

How Porter has changed since 2006

When Porter launched in 2006, it was primarily known for connecting travellers through Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Today, its network stretches across Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America.

At the same time, VIPorter has become an integral part of the airline’s services . Members can now earn and redeem points with partners including Alaska Airlines and Air Transat, opening access to destinations ranging from Hawaii and Europe to popular sun markets.

The airline has also continued updating its product on the ground and in the air. Recent improvements to its Dash 8-400 fleet are part of that effort, with details available here. Travel advisors looking to grow their visibility can also join our advisor platform as more travellers seek guidance on getting the most value from loyalty programs.

What travellers receive

Porter remains one of the few North American airlines offering economy passengers complimentary beer and wine served in glassware, premium snacks and free WiFi on its Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.

The airline’s no-middle-seat cabin layout has also become one of its most recognizable features, particularly for travellers who value extra personal space without paying for a premium cabin.

As the carrier celebrates its 20th year, the initiative celebrates how much its loyalty program has expanded alongside its route network. For frequent travellers, it offers a chance to add notable points while looking ahead to future trips across North America and beyond.
