Hotel X Toronto has officially partnered with Toronto Tempo as the basketball club prepares for its inaugural season.
Announced on May 6, the new agreement names Hotel X Toronto as the team’s official domestic hotel partner. As part of the partnership, Toronto Tempo fans with valid home game tickets will gain access to exclusive hotel rates on game days, helping create a more connected downtown Toronto sports and entertainment experience.
“Women’s sport in Canada is at an inflection point, and Toronto Tempo is at the centre of it,” said Matt Black, Director of Marketing and Partnerships at Hotel X Toronto. “We wanted in on the ground floor, not just as a hotel partner, but as a neighbour. Exhibition Place is becoming the country’s most important sports and entertainment district, and we’re proud to be building that future alongside the Tempo.”
Located at Exhibition Place, both organizations are positioned within one of Toronto’s fastest-growing sports districts. The partnership is designed to blend game-day energy with hospitality, dining and wellness experiences close to the venue.
Exclusive perks for Toronto Tempo fans
Fans attending Toronto Tempo home games will be able to access special stay packages at Hotel X Toronto during the season. The hotel says the initiative aims to attract supporters travelling from across Canada while encouraging longer stays around game-day events.
Visitors can also explore several amenities inside the property, including:
- Playbook Commons for pre-game dining
- Valerie’s rooftop restaurant and bar
- 10XTO athletic club
- Rooftop pool access
- Guerlain Spa wellness experiences
The partnership reflects the growing commercial momentum around women’s basketball in Canada, especially as Toronto prepares to welcome its first WNBA franchise.
Uptick in Canadian women’s sports investment
Toronto Tempo Chief Revenue Officer Lisa Ferkul said partnering with organizations aligned with the future of women’s sports was essential ahead of the team’s launch season.
Hotel X Toronto also described the partnership as a long-term investment in the future of Canadian sports and entertainment at Exhibition Place.
The announcement comes amid increasing corporate investment, sponsorship activity and fan engagement surrounding women’s professional sports across North America.
Toronto’s sports and entertainment district keeps expanding
The collaboration also highlights Exhibition Place’s growing role as a multi-use destination for sports, tourism and hospitality in Toronto.
As anticipation builds for the Toronto Tempo’s debut season, the partnership is expected to strengthen the fan experience while boosting visibility for both brands within Canada’s evolving sports market.
