According to reports, the incident unfolded aboard Air Canada flight AC779 on May 23 while Perry was travelling from Montreal to LAX. The “Teenage Dream” singer later took to social media to praise the airline staff for their professionalism, attentiveness, and fast action during the tense situation.

Perry posted on X, “Last night, I flew on an Air Canada flight AC779 from Montreal to LAX, and I watched a medical emergency happen on the plane.
“I was so impressed with the level of attentiveness and quick action from the crew that I just want to highlight the level of professionalism and consideration they had for the passenger.
“The medical situation was resolved on the flight and everyone left OK.”
The emergency was eventually resolved before landing, and the flight continued to Los Angeles without diversion. Air Canada later responded publicly, thanking Perry for recognizing the crew’s efforts and requesting additional details so the appreciation could be shared directly with employees onboard.
