Montreal leads the holiday flight increase

October 28, 2026 Team Contributor

Canadian travellers heading to France this winter will have more flight options during the year-end holiday season, as Air France plans to increase its weekly services from Canada to Paris from 34 to 45, with the expanded schedule beginning December 14, 2026.

The increase will benefit passengers departing from Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver, with Montreal receiving the largest number of additional flights. The announcement forms part of the airline’s winter 2026–27 schedule, covering November 2026 through April 2027.

Travellers planning a trip via Air France can also explore the amazing amenities at Air France JFK lounge to experience the airline’s airport offering for passengers travelling through New York.

Montreal leads the holiday flight increase

Air France’s Canadian schedule shows that weekly services will rise by 11 flights during the peak holiday period. Montreal will account for seven of those additional flights, while Ottawa and Vancouver will each receive two more weekly services. Toronto’s schedule will remain unchanged.

The airline’s announcement states, “From Canada, we’ll offer up to 34 flights per week to Paris, increasing to 45 during the year-end holiday season.”

The published schedule lists December 14 as the start date for the peak-period frequencies.

The additional services may give travellers higher flexibility when arranging Christmas and New Year trips, those with fixed departure dates or onward connections. Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) serves as the main arrival point for passengers travelling on these Air France flights.

France attracts hundreds of thousands of Canadian visitors

France remains a popular choice for Canadian travellers, offering everything from cultural city breaks and family visits to extended journeys across Europe. Reports recorded approximately 942,000 visits by Canadian residents to France between April 2025 and March 2026.

For those planning a winter visit, checking current travel guidance remains an important part of preparing for departure. Air France expands routes and onboard services

Beyond Canada, Air France plans to increase seat capacity to North America by 6% compared with winter 2025, while expanding services to selected destinations in Asia, South America and the Caribbean.

The airline is also continuing its La Première first-class cabin rollout on additional routes and expanding free high-speed Wi-Fi, which currently equips 70% of its fleet. Air France aims to reach 80% coverage by the end of 2026, with full fleet coverage targeted during 2027.
