Toronto is stepping onto the global stage this summer, as Toronto Pearson International Airport gears up to welcoming travellers for the FIFA World Cup 2026. As Canada’s main arrival hub, Pearson is set to become the first stop for millions of fans travelling across continents to experience the tournament.

Toronto Prepares for a Global Football Spotlight

Toronto will host six FIFA World Cup matches between June 12 and July 2, 2026. The city is gearing up to welcome thousands of international supporters and visitors from around the world during the tournament and the busy summer travel season.

Toronto Pearson anticipates handling up to 17 million passengers between early June and Labour Day weekend, with busiest days welcoming even more flyers.

As reported by CNW, Deborah Flint, President and CEO of Toronto Pearson, said, “It’s game time and we are ready at Toronto Pearson. These events create national pride, team spirit and meaningful experiences, which thousands of employees across the airport have been preparing for.”

“During the tournament and summer travel season, we expect peak days of up to 185,000 passengers across more than 1,000 flights, and we’re focused on travellers from across the world experiencing excellence, and a warm Canadian welcome and farewell.”
